New series: Industrial Update Meeting

In addition to our Market Update Meetings, which take place every autumn in Oslo and Bergen, we are proud to introduce our new meeting series called Industrial Update Meeting. The purpose of this is to ensure that our members (and others) are being updated on current maritime industry issues – innovations, products and services.

New series: Industrial Update Meeting

This year we focus on shipbuilding and conversion in response to climate and defense challenges. Come and meet 8 leading companies and shipyards from Norway, Germany, Lithuania and Estonia.

The maritime industry is facing two major challenges: climate change and growing defense and security requirements. Modern shipbuilding and ship conversion play a critical role in addressing both. Shipbuilding and ship conversion are essential activities for addressing today's environmental and security challenges. By adopting cleaner technologies, alternative fuels, and flexible vessel designs, the maritime industry can reduce its environmental impact while enhancing global maritime safety and defense readiness. These developments support a more sustainable, secure, and resilient future for international shipping.

This is what we will address at our 1st Industrial Update Meeting.

The meeting takes place on Wednesday 23 September at the Norwegian Shipowners' Association, where we are located. Come and meet 8 leading companies and shipyards from Norway, Germany, Lithuania and Estonia:

  • DNV
  • Klaipeda repair yard and Baltija shipyard (BLRT Grupp)
  • KONGSBERG
  • Kongsberg Maritime
  • Siemens Energy
  • Tallinn Shipyard (BLRT Grupp)
  • Westcon Yards
  • Wärtsilä Norway

Anders Valland from SINTEF Ocean will introduce and moderate, and there will be food and drinks for mingling after the presentations.
