The target group for this course is professionals from the shipping industry, others working in related industries, as well as those taking an interest in shipping, eager to understand the financing aspect of shipping. We aim to develop an understanding of ship finance and core commercial demands as well as lenders requiring Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) by owners and operators.
This knowledge is valuable for a variety of professionals, whether you work within ship management, chartering, finance & accounting, or other functions within the maritime industry cluster, such as classification, banking, P&I and H&M insurance, etcetera.

THE LECTURER & A FINANCE EXPERT
Mr Tor Erik Jensen is a legal professional and Assistant Professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) and visiting lecturer at BI Norwegian Business School as well as abroad.

There is also one ship finance expert from the industry to offer some real life insight to the students: Ms Claire Koehrer Eide, BNP Paribas, Director Client Relationships, Shipping & Offshore, Northern Europe. Holding an MSc in Finance from Strathclyde Business School (UK), Claire has worked with shipping and offshore clients and complex financial structures since 2007, first as credit analyst before being appointed relationship manager and then director in January 2022.
